It is a seven (7) day tour that focuses on Peloponnesus and the myths that are hidden behind the ancient army of Sparta and king Leonidas.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Hotel.
Arrival at Thessaloniki’s airport and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon free for an optional city tour. Dinner at local Greek typical tavern in the old city. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Thessaloniki-Thermopyles-Delpfi
Depart from Thessaloniki, heading for Delfi. Optional lunch in Lamia. We continue by visiting “Thermopyles”, where in 480 B.C. few Greek forces, consisting of 300 Spartans and 700 Thespians led by Spartan King Leonidas faced the numerous Persian Forces, led by King Xerses the first. We continue our drive and we reach Delphi. Overnight at the hotel. Optional dinner at a local taverna.
Day 3: Delfi - Olympia
Depart for the guided tour of the Delphi museum and the archaeological site. “Delphi is both an archaeological site and a modern town in Greece on the south-western spur of Mount Parnassus in the valley of Phocis. In Greek mythology, Delphi was the site of the Delphic oracle, the most important oracle in the classical Greek world, and a major site for the worship of the god Apollo after he slew the Python, a deity who lived there and protected the navel of the Earth”. Delphi was built at the point where two eagles released by Zeus, met and was believed to be the geographical center of earth by the Greeks”. We continue our trip visiting Arachova ( a picturesque mountainous village situated in Mt Parnassus and it is the main ski resort for Athenians) where we may have optional lunch. After lunch we depart for Olympia (apr. 4 hours), very well known as the cradle of Olympic Games. Arrival at the hotel. Optional dinner at a local taverna. Overnight.
Day 4: Olympia-Sparti-Diros Cave-Nafplion
Early in the morning we will begin by visiting Olympia site and the archaeological museum. We depart for Sparti, where we arrive after 3 hour drive. We can proceed by visiting Diros Cave, located on the west coast of the Laconian peninsula in the Bay of Dirou. After seeing the cave, we proceed our trip to arrive in Nafplion, one of the most beautiful town in the area of Argolis, in Eastern Peloponnese, as well as on of the most romantic cities in Greece. Nafplion was the first capital of the newly born Greek state between 1823 and 1834. Check in at hotel and optional dinner at a local taverna.
Day 5: Mykines - Epidavros
Depart for Mykines, an importan archaeological site in Greece. It was the city at the centre of the Mycenaean civillisation between 1600 B.C and 1100 B.C and it is linked to Odyssey and Iliad. The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus is regarded as one of the best preserved ancient theatres in the world. It was constructed in the late 4th century B.C. We continue with lunch break in Korinthos. On our way to Athens, now, after few bus stops, we will reach the New Acropolis Museum that houses every artifact found on the Athens site form the Greek Bronze Age to the Roman and Byzantine period in Greece. An amazing museum to visit!!! Optional dinner in a local taverna, overnight at hotel.
Day 6: Athens - Marathonas - Thessaloniki
Departure from Hotel. We proceed with a guided tour of the Acropolis, with its beautiful Parthenon! In Greek, Acropolis means ‘the upper fortified part of an ancient Greek city’ and the Parthenon was the Temple of the Greek goddess Athena whom the people of Athens considered their protector. Its construction began in 447BC and it was completed in 432BC. During the tour you will also explore the Ancient Agora, the best-known example of an ancient Greek agora (a place of Assembly). We will continue with a visit of the Panatinaiko (Athens Marble Stadium), used for the first Modern Olympics. Following that, we proceed with Marathonas, the town of which was the site of the battle of Marathon in 490 B.C. in which the heavily outnumbered Athenian army defeated the Persians. After lunch we are heading for Thessaloniki. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7: Transfer to airport
Free morning for shopping. Transfer to airport for your departure flight.
