It’s an eight day tour visiting the major lakes of Northern Greece which are of great interest of flora and fauna.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Hotel
Arrival at Thessaloniki’s airport and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon free for an optional city tour. Dinner at local Greek typical tavern in the old city. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Full day tour to Lake Koronia
Full day ornithological excursion to Lake Koronia a very special corner of the Greek nature and an important wetland with a great variety of bird species such as the ones we will observe. Return to Thessaloniki. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 Tour to lake Volvi, Apollonia forest, Delta of Strymon and Kavala
Departure for Kavala with excursion en route of Lake Volvi, Apollonia forest and the delta of Strimon river. Overnight at Kavala.
Day 4: Full day Nestos Delta
Full day excursion to delta of river Nestos a very important and accessible wetland. This area remains virtually unspoiled and provides the opportunity for interesting bird observations. More than 300 species have been recorded in the Nestos Delta. Overnight at Kavala.
Day 5: Porto Lagos Vistonis Evros Delta Alexandroupolis
Departure for Alexandroupolis with excursions en route of Salinas Porto Lagos, Lake Vistonis and valley Avas. In the afternoon excursion to Delta of river Evros. Here the river is mixed together with the seawater, millions of birds pass through here every year, following the migration route of the Eastern Mediterranean. Evros Delta is one of the 11 wetlands of International importance (Ramsar wetlands ). Continue with a visit of Daphnia bird observation station. Return to Alexandroupolis. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 & Day 7: Alexandroupolis-Edessa-Florina
Early departure for Florina. On the way, we will have the opportunity to visit Edessa, a lovely town with the famous water falls. During the two days stay in Florina, we will visit the lakes big and small Prespa and the nearby villages of Agios Germanos and Psarades which are very worthwhile seeing. The shores of the smaller lake, filled with reeds, provide shelter for many species of migrating birds every year. In the middle of the lake, the small island of Agios Achilios has both ancient and Byzantine ruins and on its rocky coast there are caves, once used as shrines with walls decorated with religious paintings. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Florina-Thessaloniki
Early departure for Thessaloniki. Transfer to the airport for departure flight.
